Solar Energy Policy 2019

The most attractive package of financial incentives (exemptions and subsidies) is available for investors under Rajasthan Solar Energy Policy 2019.

Facilities and Incentives
  • Incentives available to industrial units under the schemes administered by State’s Industries Department shall be available to the Solar Power Producers.
  • Water will be made available for cleaning of solar panels and auxiliary consumption of solar power plant, subject to the availability of water.
  • Banking facility shall be provided for captive consumption and third party sale within the State on yearly basis with banking charges @ 10% of the banked energy.
  • The electricity consumed by the solar power producer for captive use within the State will be exempted from payment of Electricity Duty for 7 years.
  • Concession in transmission and wheeling charges will be provided for 7 years to the power projects set up for captive use/third party sale within the State after the commencement of this Policy and up to March 2023 or for a capacity of 500 MW (Solar, Wind & Wind-Solar Hybrid, with or without storage, taken together) whichever is earlier.
  • Solar power projects set up for captive use and third party sale can avail benefit of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) as per CERC Regulations.
Concessions for Charging Stations
  • First 500 charging stations set up within 5 years from the date of commencement of this Policy will be provided Government land at 50% concessional rate.
  • RE-based charging stations will get benefit of 100% exemption in transmission and wheeling charges for a period of 10 years from the date of their establishment.
Concessions for Manufacturing of Solar Energy Equipment
  • Exemption of 100% Stamp Duty
  • Land allotment at 50% concessional rate
  • Full exemption in Electricity Duty for 10 years
  • Investment Subsidy on SGST
  • Employment and interest Subsidy as per Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS)
  • Employment and Interest Subsidy as per Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS), other concessions as customised package under RIPS and benefits of MSME Policy to eligible manufacturers will be provided.
